This original Soviet mid-century biology school chart illustrates polyploidy in plants, which is the mutation where cells acquire multiple sets of chromosomes. Printed in Leningrad, USSR, in 1968. Teaching aid from the collection of a retired Ukrainian teacher.

The botanical illustration features detailed graphics comparing genetic mutations in Buckwheat and the Peach-leaved Bellflower (Campanula persicifolia). The right panel beautifully diagrams Karpechenko’s famous 1920s radish-cabbage hybrid experiment.
